Sabudana Vada / Tapioca Pearls Tikki


Sabudana Vada / Sago Vada / Tapioca Pearls Tikki ……


An awesome deep fried snack loved by young and old alike. It is a famous snack from Maharashtra now prepared almost all round the world. A deep fried snack prepared and eaten generally during fasting days. Come fasting day and in most houses round Maharashtra its either Sabudana Vada or Sabudana Khichidi. So here is the most loved snack of all times Sabudana Vada, that is very easy to make and yummier in taste.


Soak one cup of sabudana for 30 minutes, drain and let swell on its own for a few hours. Pressure cook 3 large potatoes, mash them well so that there are no lumps.


Add finely chopped 4-5 green chillies, salt to taste, 8-10 chopped curry leaves, 1 tsp hing powder, pinch of fennel powder (Optional), ¼ cup chopped coriander leaves and the soaked sabudana, also add in 1/2 cup of roasted and skinned peanut pieces and combine well.


Knead well for a few minutes, make into tikkies and deep fry in hot oil on medium flame till golden brown. Remove on a absorbent paper. 


Serve hot with tomato ketchup or any chutney of your choice.
