Custard Apple-Banana Mangalore Buns / Poori


Sweet-Spicy-Sitaphal / Custard Apple-Banana Buns

For one cup of sour curds add the fleshy part of 2 sitaphal, 1 small illaichi banana, 7-8 tsp of sugar, ½ tsp salt, 1tblsp cooking soda and mix well to a smooth mixture. To this add 1tblsp roughly crushed pepper and 1 tblsp whole jeera. Mix well. Add Maida to this mixture (as much as required) to form a smooth elastic dough. Rub all over with 1 tblsp oil, cover and keep overnight. Next morning roll out to thick poor i(should be thicker than our normal poori) and deep fry in hot oil. Buns are ready.
