GODU APPO FOR PRASAD


Appo Prepared with Wheat .....


Wash 2 cups of whole wheat or thick lapsi, I used whole wheat. Add a cup of finely grated fresh coconut, ½ cup of washed thin pova, 5-6 cardamoms, a pinch of salt and grind to a grainy texture. Add about 1-1/2 to 2 cup of jaggery / gud and further grind till mixed well. Transfer the batter in a vessel add a pinch of cooking soda and keep aside for half an hour. The batter should not be too thin. The thickness should be similar to that of idli batter.


Heat appe tawa/paniyaram tava by adding little bit oil in each of the dents. Pour the batter cover & cook on slow fire. Check in between. When done on top flip the appes & cook the other side too (need not cover with lid when cooking on other side). Sweet appos are ready.
