"Amla~Radish~Ginger Pachodi+" ... A delicious~healthy Chutney that goes very well with Idly/ Dosa/ roti / paratha or can be served with spiced up rice like chitranna too ... Yummy ...
Pachodi is a dish similar to chutney, but with addition of some grated veggies. There are many types of pachodi prepared in our Konkani Cusine, the most common one being the one where raw mangoes are used along with cucumber. Today a changed the same a little bit and prepared it using grated moolangi / radish along with Amla / Avalo / Gooseberry. I must say tasted awesome, I served this in the morning with Idly and for noon with Chitranna. Yummy Yumz. Try it I am sure you will love them. Do prepare it fresh for best taste.
** For The Recipe : Grind to a fine paste 1 cup of freshly grated coconut with 1 finely chopped (remove the seed) amla / avalo / gooseberry (Fresh ones), 3-4 green chillies, 1 inch piece of ginger.

** Remove and add one cup of finely grated radish and 1 or 2 grated amla. Add salt to taste and mix well. Add water if necessary to bring it to the required consistency.
** For Tempering : Heat 2 tblsp of coconut oil or any other oil in a small pan, when hot add 1 tsp of urad dal, when they turn slightly brown add pinch of methi seeds, 1 tsp of rai (sasam) and when they splutter add pinch of hing powder and 8-10 curry leaves. Mix well and pour this over the chutney.
** "Amla~Radish~Ginger Pachodi+" is done and ready to be served. You can serve with Dosa / Idly / Roti / Paratha / Chitranna. It tastes simply awesome. Prepare and serve this fresh as it does not remain so good after a few hours even if refrigerated. Enjoy this dish with Chitranna as a side dish, it tastes simply awesome. I prepared this fresh in the morning served it with Idly and with Chitranna in the noon.
