"My Delicious Veg. Thali~ 258 : Cauliflower Bajo (Fries), Chano- Kooka Gashi (Whole Bengal Gram- Chinese Potato Curry), Bhenda Upkari (Lady's Finger Bhaji), Chane (Cooked Whole Bengal Gram)- Kokum Saaru (Saar), SheetHa (Rice)" ... delicious lunch ... enjoy the meal visuals ... Yummilicious ... 

** Awesome lunch today, something that just happened. sometimes one thing leads to another and you end up preparing quite a lovely array of dishes. In my community there is a system of preparing certain dishes on certain days of the week, which some still follow. While Tuesdays is most whole green moong, for Fridays it whole chana, Saturdays Kulith. I am not a systematic follower of these dishes though at times, I do, but most of the time I go about preparing what pops up in my mind, frankly, my menu is never decided most of the time, unless its festive day or I have guests dropping in. Well, as it was Friday and I had purchase kooka (Chinese potato) now in season, and decided to prepare gashi with chano (whole Bengal gram) a traditional Konkani Saraswat dish that is loved by one and all. 

** Whenever Chana is cooked the water is used in preparing saaru/ saar by most of us in my community and I always do so as we love this flavorful saar when served with rice. So that was it, I had decided that it would be gashi and saar for lunch and maybe I would roast a papad. Well, on my way to buy some necessary ingredients, the veggie vendor called me over and asked me to buy fresh cauliflower and a few other veggies all of which were hard to resist as they were farm fresh to look at, that’s it came back carrying them happily. Took a break of 30 minutes early during lunch break to go home and prepare bajo and upkari, Ahhhaa the perks of having your own business and being your own boss. Well, the thali is before you, go ahead and enjoy the visual meal, while I think of more new delicious dishes .
