** Simple meals as I have often mentioned before are heartwarming and soul foods that which we always prefer to have at home especially after back to back festival or function events where in invariable we end up with more food than is necessary. However, having said that festivals are meant to be celebrated and preparing certain dishes and making offerings to God as Naivedyam is a humble way of thanking him for keeping us safe and taking care of us through ups and downs in our life and I really do not wish to cut down on them as long as I am able to prepare the same. In order to keep the balance and to give rest to tummy, I always make it a point to go lighter on other days and Ekadashi that fals twice a month is observed with just a simple snack though I would love to try out abstaining from food complete, however cannot do so on Dr. advice as both of us have ageing health issues. Here is a lovely simple meal that is lighter on tummy though there are a few pieces of fries to satisfy the taste buds and lift up our moods to have a satisfaction of the same as it is winter season too. Sharing links to the recipes of the dishes in the thali as is my usual pattern, do try them out and enjoy with your family and friends, there is nothing like a satisfied meal during tough times.
