My Delicious Amchi Thali~195.



“Today’s Delicious Amchi Thali 195: Ambuli Nonche (Raw Mango Pickle), Tendle (Gherkins)-Cauliflower Dhentu (Stems)-Piyava (Onion) Bhutti (Semi Dry Curry), Kulitha Upkarai (Horse Gram Bhaji), Kulitha Saaru (Horse Gram Saar) with addition of Kokum Aagal, SheetHa (Rice) and Roasted Papad (Lijjat)” … was missing typical Konkani food … Kulith is usually cooked on Saturday’s in Amchigele’s homes … the only thing I missing on my food platter is a blob of homemade butter which Mom always insisted must be served with saaru on rice as kulith is heat producer … here kokum is sure to balance the heat level as it has cooling properties … Yummilicious …. 

** Sharing again a delicious Amchi Veg. Thali, after quite some time as due to shortage of veggies, I try using them sparingly. Added to the agony, my fridge has given way and is half dead, only the freezer part is working that too at 50% capacity and sometimes it just does not budge, very unpredictable behavior. As it is already 26 yrs old the parts and service to the same is not available, so I just need to purchase a new one, which again is possible only when sales begin after shops open. Well, only time will tell when that will be looking at the current situation. Things are going down worst day by day in Mumbai, my city, cases are on the increase and Covid just doesn’t seem to go away. All we can do is Pray to God and Stay strong.

It is a pleasure to share thali here and the demand for more keeps coming as people are now home bound and would like to try out new dishes. But I am helpless as in my hometown most of the time it is total lock down and veggies are not available and which my fridge on the low I cant buy more too. So please do excuse and lets all fight and stay strong with each other together and sail this crisis with an positive attitude
