Micro waved-Hasselback Potatoes


Micro waved-Hasselback Potatoes...a healthier version

Potatoes can be cooked/baked/grilled/boiled…. So many options… but there is a difference in taste in each one of these….. I had posted Hasselback Potatoes A Sweedish Version of Crispy Baked Potatoes……… the method is a bit higher on calorie’s so I tried the same on Microwave …..by brushing only a tablespoon of butter on the potatoes and Microwaving them and lastly sprinkling a bit of cheese, some finely chopped methi leaves and grilling it for a few minutes. The dish was awesome…….. but with a minute difference in crispiness. Here is the Hasselback Potatoes ………. prepared on Microwave

MICROWAVE HASSELBACK POTATOES

Place about 4-5 washed and scrubbed clean potatoes on a cutting board and slice 3/4 the way through the potato. Don't cut al the way through, the potatoe’s should hold together. Once potatoes are sliced, brush the potatoes with 1tblsp melted butter. Be sure to get between each slice well. 


Put in the buttered potatoes in a microwave oven proof baking dish and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Microwave on high for about 10-14 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked through and tender. 

Keep checking as the timings differ’s from oven to oven & also the size of the potatoes. Brush some butter on the potatoes and sprinkle some methi/coriander leaves and grill in oven for 2-3 mins at 220 deg. Temp. This step is actually not necessary. Sprinkle immediately with some shredded cheese, the cheese melts quickly.

Serve hot with some salad of your choice.
