** It’s Teru/ Cart festival/ Rata-Saptami event in my hometown Mangalore now and today is the 2 nd day. The festival is of 5 days and another day of holi in all 6 days. It has really been ages since I have been to this festival, almost over 3 decades. For those of you from in and around Mangalore are fully aware of the hustle the festival creates, moreover nowadays the same can be watched on live streaming too. During childhood for almost a week round this festival mom never prepared non-vegetarian and also it was also no onion- no garlic food for us. There is food served in temple and we had our food there for all 5 days. Well, I will not run into details of the festival, as I have already penned them in one of my Thoughts_N_Notes topic here in the Blog. After marriage too I have continued with the pattern of abstaining from such food and keep it to slightly matching temple served food, to passive myself of those days as we miss it all now. So prepared chane gashi today which is one of the items served on one of the five days. Do browse through the links given below for recipes and try them in your home and relish with family and friends.
