My Combo Meals Thali~ 247.

“My Combo Meals Thali~ 247 : Kokum Taak (Buttermilk), Vegetable Masala Rava Upma, Seemebadanekayi Podi (Chow Chow Tava Fries), Veg. Kochla Nonche (Pickle)” … today being Utpanna Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha Kartika masa is a holy day for Hindus … here is my simple yet delicious tummy filling No Onion- No Garlic- No Rice- Only Meal of the day …

** Here is another upvas/ fasting food thali prepared on the auspicious day of Utpanna Ekadashi on Krishna Paksha Kartika Masa. In the olden days it was believed that every Hindu Vaishnava Brahmin should observe the fast of Ekadashi. Ekadashi is the eleventh day of every Masa ie month and comes about twice in month. In a month there are two lunar cycles Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha of 15 days each. While all Ekadashi days are equally pious and holy, some are believed to more sore like that which falls on the shukla paksha of Ashadi, Kartik, Magha masa/ months and a few more too.

** During younger days we observed those that were considered the most auspicious, however as one ages one realizes that all are equally important having their own significance. Though I am not well versed in this subject, I somehow like following the same as it keeps me spiritually at peace and health wise too fit. Well, a small attempt, that’s it. Here is my simple one meal of the day that I have at around 2 pm in the noon that keeps me going the whole day ahead with enough stamina for all works to be done. Sharing links to the same, do browse through and try them out, they are all very tasty, healthy and easy to prepare.
