2020 will be etched in our heart forever with Lessons Learned.

Aakir Zindagi ne Sikkahidiya/ Lessons of Life Learned .... the year 2020 that played havoc in everybody's life worldwide comes to an end in 24 hours ... we all have good/bad memories etched in our hearts through our life, but 2020 will keep haunting all of us for a long time to come with just one word covid ... the bruised mind will never forget the hard lessons learned on 2020 ...

** 2020 ... it's the year that taught us to value life, to be self dependent/ aatmanirbhar, humanity, besides a lot of other things as we went through the grind ... the uncertainty, the helplessness, the fear, the agony of staying away from loved ones and friends ... the plight of not getting food supplies, the distress of losing jobs, children loosing out on school/ playing outdoors ... above all the constant fear that gripped our heart when the Ambulances zipped through sirens shrieking ... that goonj/ echo keeps ringing still in our ears waking us in wee hours ...

** Oh yes; we wore masks for the first time, washed hands more frequently, scrubbed everything we brought home, stayed at home, cooked and ate home cooked food hot, sanitized almost everything, watched TV, caught up on missed movies, Doordarshan also re-telecasted epics and old serials to brighten our mood/ to keep us engrossed, we read books that had remained untouched for decades, churned out new dishes, cleaned every corner of our home, browsed through fb, chatted on whats-app/mobile, worked hard, exercised against body protest to build up immunity ...

** Included higher dose of Vit.C, multi vitamins by having amla, lemons, ginger etc. Inhaled hot steams too as were suggested. Closing of temple doors for the first time ever made us feel as though God was also shutting us off, so in our homes we prayed like never before ... children were the worst hit, not by the disease but by the change in pattern of life, they were enrolled into online classes which is just a Dud method of teaching kids, they turned cranky being home bound with no playtime and friends, so they were added on to different courses online, Sigh, this is not what they needed for sure as it curbs their growth/ development.

** the trend of working from home online began, everything from exercises like yoga, to cooking, to consultations ... all at the click of fingers without moving out, this is built up more fear not to mention the blaring breaking news of death tolls or those infected and many became psychologically imbalanced. In order to stay healthy, we kept ourselves busy both physically and mentally, that kept us away from haunting thoughts of fear and convinced our mind that everything was normal ... Oh, we saw it all but we fought, Oh, yes we fought hard within ourselves to keep normalcy/ control/ balance over mind ...

** We remain indebted to all front liners be it Dr's, Nurses, Community workers, Navy Force, Police Force, Government officials etc. I salute to our Hon. PM too, who worked round the clock to keep us safe. It broke us from within to hear some weak minds/ persons default by habit and nature cribbing a lot all through, finding fault in everything, be it the facilities given out best of ability or help stretched beyond means. The situation was something unexpected, nobody was prepared for this worldwide, we as human beings need to extend help and not be a nuisance, when will they learn, I wonder??

** But most of us worked our way through with faith in humanity, brushing aside all negative thoughts and extending as much help as we could. Our GSB community under the guidance of our Guruji/ Swamiji ... offered a lot of assistance and help to the best of our ability too ... Oh yes; the fear came back bouncing when darkness crept in and it was time to wind up as darkness crept in ... we tossed the night away wondering what went wrong?? did we do wrong?? were will this all lead to?? who is to blame?? will the world end?? will we come up with a vaccine on time?? We have not yet reached any positive conclusion as such and uncertainty still hangs on our heads.

** In a matter of 24 hours we are stepping into 2021. The new year that always brought in happy celebrations are curtailed on cautionary levels. With new year we pray with faith that peace and happiness will be restored by God's grace,  butt, we will not forget 2020, the year that brought in so much pain in our lives, making us all vulnerable to the core ... No we will not, we should not ... it taught us both good/bad, we have learned what it is to stay within the confines of four walls, it taught us how curtailed freedom feels which we so much take for granted ... we have all fought a long battle with just a light of hope at the end of the long tunnel that never seems to end ... but we will all travel along with hope for sure.

** We are stepping into 2021, naye saal nayi umeedein ... with hope in our heart for betterment of all worldwide ... will we be able to bring back happiness into our lives once again?? ... faith says we will, hope says we should and heart says we can and summing it all up intelligence says we will, we should, we can provided we stand united in all efforts ... prayer has a lot of power ... power is at its best when humble ... humbleness is the essence to life ... and life is Beautiful as long as you learn to give back more than what you take ... 2021 please be good to all ...

OM Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya.
