Masoor Dal Fry, Rice, Raw Mango Pickle and Lady's Finger Bhaji.


“My Combo Meal: Masoor Dal Fry, Aapus Ambo (Alphonso Mango), SheetHa (Rice), Ambuli Nonche (Raw Mango Pickle), Bhenda Upkari (Lady’s Finger/ Okra Bhaji)” … today’s simple tummy filling lunch with my favorite dishes … there goes the last of aapus ambo … hope to find some more soon … Yummilicious … 

** Again, a simple but tasty and tummy filling lunch today with dal fry which is again one of our favorite dish at home. This is one tasty dal that can be prepared with moong dal, masoor dal or tuvar dal too. This time I have prepared using masoor dal and served it with rice, though if the texture is kept thicker goes very well with roti too. Bhendi ie Lady’s Finger/ Okra is a veggie available all year round. Being alkaline by nature this veggie is good for health and balances the acidic levels within the body, so it is very important to include this often into your diet. A simple Konkani Saraswat style Bhaji/ Upkari, sort of stir fry method which is prepared almost in every home in our community. I have shared links to all the dishes in the picture above below and you can browse through the same for the recipes. This is my usual practice with thali or combo meal patterns as the dishes are already posted elsewhere. 

** The thali or combo meal is just a post I started sharing after getting several requests to do so, to help those who always what to cook for meals and would like to know the combos.
