“My Thali 62 ... “Cucumber Slices, Sungta Panna Upkari (Spicy Prawns Curry), Beetroot Upkari (Bhaji), Dalitoy (Spiced Tuvar Dal), SheetHa (Rice)” … A simple~delicious amchi dishes thali … Yummy Yumz ...…
** Once again a simple and delicious thali from my kitchen with fish curry that is a favorite of Konkani Saraswat Non-Veg eaters. I usually do not make any other masala dishes or add on much dishes when it comes to fish curry thali. It is so because in my home when there is the delicious dish of fish curry every other dish is just brushed away, so no point in cooking too many dishes and wasting food. But recently I have begun to include a vegetable upkari/bhaji compulsorily whenever I good Non-Veg dishes. It was not so before but in the last few years considering the necessity for the non-veg dishes to get better digested with approaching age I have made it a must. As we age our digestion, power gets lessened and non-veg dishes take more time for digestion or sometimes even does not get digested properly.
** Vegetables consumed with them help in the movement of the bowels giving relief to elderly members in the family. I urge all of you too immaterial of your age, do add on veggies at least for one meal of the day. It will actually give you a lovely healthy life free of unnecessary ailments that rise from indigestion. I have already included the dishes in my blog before, so will be sharing the links to the same as usual practice. 1.. “Sliced Cucumber pieces” … Just peel of the outer skin of cucumber and cut them horizonatally into half and then vertically into six pieces. I served them as it is, but you can sprinkle some salt and pepper powder or chilly powder too. That’s exclusively individual preference. I used to do so before, but not anymore as it is not healthy to add on much of salt.
