My Thali 63.



My Sunday Thali 63 ... Brinjal~Moong Dal Curry (Kathirikkai Gotsu), Cucumber (Taushe') Slices, Red Boiled Rice (Ukde SheetHa), Prawn Hing Curry (Sungta Hinga Uddaka ghalnu Randai), Spine Gourd Fries (Pagila Podi) ... Yumz ... 

** Once again posting My Thali with Veg and Non.Veg. for all my friends here. For those of you who are vegetarians the same curry prepared with prawns can be replaced with potatoes and prepared. It tastes delicious too. I will not run into any details here on any individual dishes as they are all shared in individual posts. This is just a combination pattern for you to follow if at all you are confused as to what you want to prepare if you have friends or relatives over for lunch / dinner. Today’s Non. Veg Thali has both Konkani Saraswat dishes and a Tamilian dish in the thali. Brinjal~Moon Dal curry is a dish from southern parts of India specially Tamilian’s favorite. Other dishes are all Amchi dishes. Sharing the links to each of the items below, please go through the link for the recipe that you desire to try out.

1.. "Brinjal~Moong Dal Curry (Kathirikkai Gotsu)" ... Gotsu is a delicious South Indian Curry, would say it's closer to sambar or kootu and can be served as a side dish with mildly spiced rice dishes like pongal / khichidi / pulav or even roti / parathas … Tastes crunchy and yumz ….

2. “Cucumber Slices” … Wash the cucumber well, scrubbing the skin well to remove all dirt. Wipe and cut them into thin round slices. Serve with a dash of pepper or as it is. You can also peel off the skin if you do not like it. I retain them sometimes as they are full of fibre and good for the tummy. 

3. “Cooking Red Boiled Ukda Rice Red Boiled Rice / Tambde Ukde Tandla sheetha / Urpel Ari / LaL Mota Chawal" ... using Pressure Cooker … My easy way out. Cooking red boiled rice / ukde sheetha is considered laborious and time consuming, but I use a faster method and get perfectly cooked rice using pressure cooker ….. Anybody can follow this simple method, cook and enjoy hot red ukada boiled rice with a spicy Veg / Non. Veg Curry

4. “Prawns Curry with Asafoetida~Coconut Oil / Sungatache Hinga Uddaka ghalnu randai (Hummana) with Narlela Tela” … A Delicious~Aromatic~Spicy Curry from Konkani Saraswath’s Cuisine ... Goes well with Rice ... Totally Yumz .....

5. “Pagila Podi / Spine Gourd (Teasel Gourd) Tava Fries” … A very simple but delicious monsoon delicacy fries that tastes great when served as a side dish with other dishes … specially dalitoy~rice … Yummy Yumz …
