My Naivedyam Thali No~ 239. Wishing all "A Very Happy- Prosperous Vijaya Dashami (Dussehra)".

Wishing all A Very Happy- Prosperous Vijaya Dashami (Dussehra)

"My Naivedyam (Festive) Thali No~ 239: Bhenda Upkari (Lady's Finger Bhaji/ Stir Fry), Tendle Kismuri (Ivy Gourd Dry Masala Bhaji), Taushe' Hullela (Cucumber Curry), Dalitoy (Spiced Tuvar Dal), SheetHa (Rice), Kananga Podi (Sweet Potato Tava Fries), Madgane (Chana Dal Payasam) with Rasvodo (Rice Fries)" ... my humble offering at the lotus feet of Mata Durga and Prabhu Sri. Ramachandra ...

** Today is an auspicious day when Goddess Durga fought and killed the demon Mahishasura by stabbing him with her trident for his evil deeds and there by came to be also known as Mahishasuramardini ... it is also the day when the evil ten headed Demon; King of Lanka, Ravana was destroyed by Prabhu Sri Ramachandra for having mercilessly kidnapped Mata Sita (Sri Rama's consort) and for all his other wrong deeds ... there by endorsing triumph of truth, victory of good over evil ... on this pious day may SiyaRama and Mata Durga bless us all with good health, peace, happiness, wealth and prosperity ...
Jai Mata Di
Jai SiyaRama
OM Gurubyo Namaha

** This year the 9th day ie the last day of Nava Durga of Navratri and the 10th day of Vijaya Dashmi have collided onto the same day. While many in the northern parts have celebrated it on 25th many in southern parts have done so on the following day ie 26th … As all 10 days are auspicious and since I had taken effort this year to prepare a meal offering everyday I just prepared the same on both days to avoid the issue, after all the more days worshiped the better always … so go ahead and enjoy.

** There is a set pattern of dishes followed by GSB Konkani Saraswat in Naivedyam Thali for the given occasion without much changes, well sometimes I do make with minor changes. Sharing links to recipes of all dishes shared in the above thali, as is my usual practice with thali Items as they are already shared in the Blog elsewhere and there is no point in repeating, do excuse inconvenience caused if any. Try out various combos of items in meals and enjoy them with your family and friends.
