My Thali 73.


"My Veg. Thali 73 ... Batato~Piyava Upkari (Potato~Onion Bhaji), Spicy~ Sweet~ Sour Ambade Godi Randai (Hogplum Curry / Hummana), Cabbage~Piyava Ambado (Cabbage~Onion Fritters), Dalitoy (Spiced Tuvar Dal) and SheetHa (Rice)" ... A delicious Amchi meal … Yummy Yumz …. 

** Once again posting My Veg. Thali for all my friends here. A delicious combo of dishes with the inclusion of traditional cabbage-onion ambado a deep fried side dish loved by most Konkani Saraswts. Likewise, I will not run into any details here on any individual dishes as by now all of you are aware that they are all shared as individual posts. This is just a combination pattern for you to follow if at all you are confused as to what you want to prepare if you have friends or relatives over for lunch / dinner / festive times etc.. Today’s is a delicious Amchi, GSB / Konkani Saraswat traditional dishes thali and I assure you will be loved by one and all. Simple yet includes all types of exclusive dishes that are enjoyed with content. Sharing the links to each of the items below, please go through the link for the recipe that you desire to try out. 1.. “Batato ani Piyava Upkari / Potato and Onion Bhaji” … A simple delicious bhaji that goes very well as side dish when served with Dalitoy~Rice or even chapati / roti … Yumz ...  

** Note : The Potato bhaji included in the picture above was this time prepared in my newly purchased Iron kadai hence the color, so don’t go by it, you can check the link below or can buy Iron kadai for cooking veggies too, it is considered to be good source of Iron, provided you are not fussy about the color on initial cooking, with time it settle and you will not get that color.

2. "Spicy~Sweet~Sour Hogplum Curry / Ambade Godi Randai (Hummana)" ... There are two types of Hogplums available, one sweet and the other sour, usually this curry is prepared using the sweet ones ... Yummilicious ...

3. “Traditional Cabbage~Piyava Ambado / Cabbage~Onion Fritters” … A delicious deep fried Ambado/Vada/Fritter from the Konkani Saraswat Cuisine with added ground masala, that is famous amongst all and is relished as a side dish during lunch/dinner along with other dishes … Tastes best when served with Dalitoy (spiced tuvar dal) and SheetHa (Rice) … Yumz … :)

5. “Dalitoy (Spiced Tuvar Dal)" …. A delicious Konkani Saraswat Dal that tastes well with rice. A must during every meal in our community, we simply love our dal with rice.

6. “Cooking Rice Starch Free / Vanu ghalnu SheetHa” … Rice cooked and the water is drained off to remove excess starch. The rice remains well cooked without sticking to each other … Do try this formula / method of cooking as it is very healthy.
