My Scrumptious Monsoon Veg. Thali~ 301.

“My Scrumptious Monsoon Veg. Thali~ 301 : Taushe (Cucumber/ Kakdi) Slices, Nendrabale Kele Kachri (Banana Wafers/ Chips), Tambdi Bhajji Talasani (Red Amaranth Leaves Garlic Stir Fry), Moong+ Ukdo Tandla Tere Panna Patrado (Whole Green Gram+ White Boiled Rice Colocasia Leaves Steamed Rolls), Chano- Tomato Saar (Saaru), SheetHa (Rice)” … most of the veggies are farm fresh which I could not resist buying … I always wonder why tambdi bhajji available here looses out on color while cooking but nevertheless tasty … Yummilicious ....

** Here is my delicious saraswat meal of monsoon season again. Tere paan ie colocasia leaves that are largely used in curry form are available in plenty during rains and it is believed that there are certain medicinal properties in them and hence they should be consumed during the period. These are available in large/ medium and small sizes, and I bought the large ones this time to prepare patrado as it had been quite sometime since I prepared them. I also got some fresh red amaranth leaves/ laal mathi/ tambdi bhajji, which I bought hoping that at least this time when cooked it would retain the red color as it does in our hometown grown amaranth leaves. But it did not and turned dark greenish in color and I always wonder why and not yet got the answer. Nevertheless the taste is the same, so issues on that front. However, in all I must confess a delicious healthy thali dishes soul warming meal.

** Sharing links to the items in the thali which is my normal practice with thali posts as the dishes individually are posted in detailed elsewhere. Do click on the link for the recipe, which you may try out in your homes and relish them with your family and friends. The saar served in the above thali is prepared with whole black bengal gram/ chano cooked water which I always retain whenever I prepare chano dishes prior day to prepare saar the following day, do prepare and try it out once if you have not yet, it tastes delicious. You can also prepare any saar or dal for serving along with these dishes too and it tastes equally delicious, you may use label or search option for the same. The pandemic still continues so plz. be careful and follow all the government issued guidelines. Exercise in plenty and eat healthy nutritious home cooked food for good immunity and above all stay happy and keep connected.

** Given below are the links to the recipes of individual dishes in the picture above, please go through the link for that particular dish .....

** For serving “Taushe (Cucumber/ Kakdi) Slices” just wash them and wipe them dry, slice off both the edge sized portion and then slice them into desired thickness rings, you may retain the skin or peel off as is your choice. I served them as it is but you can sprinkle some salt and pepper powder/ chilly powder if desired.
