"My Naivedyam Combo Meal for Ashadhi Ekadashi~ Thali~ 296 : Varai- Jola Upma (Indian Baryanrd- Corn Kernels Seasoned), Sabudana- Cashew Nut Vadas (Tikki), Coconut Chutney, Ponsa Gharai (Jackfruit Payasam)" ... Wishing all A Very Prosperous Ashadhi Ekadashi and A Very Blessed Chaturmasa period ... Stay Safe ...
** Ashadhi Ekadashi is a very auspicious/ spiritual day for us Hindus. In GSB community too we start the four month chaturmasa around this day and fasting is observed by almost all in their own way. Some observe drinking only water, while some take fruits or milk and few other take dishes prepared meant for fasting. Varai, rava, fruits, sabudana, potatoes, dry fruits and a few more items can be consumed on fasting days in Konkani Saraswat community. With age and health issue in my home too we have stopped observing strict fasting though I hope to do so in future. At present due to medications, it has been advice not to do so.
** So all fasting days are observed by preparing food that are allowed to be had and trust me sometimes these are more tedious to prepare than our normal dishes, but then all for a good cause, no issues there, in fact enjoy these meals that are something different from routine ones. So the pious months begin and here is wishing all my friends "A Very Happy and Prosperous Ashadhi Ekadashi” and the coming festivals that are lined back to back for almost four months. Hoping to post more delicious dishes always with God’s grace, May he grant me good health to do so always and offer him more Naivedyams.
** Also, offering prayers at the lotus feet of Lord Vittala and his consort Goddess Rakhumai to remove all obstacles of still ongoing pandemic crises worldwide and restore peace- health- wealth- happiness in every home ... Do be careful and stay safe, I guess we still have a long way to go and the only way is to get Vaccinated, wear mask, wash hands often, sanitize and maintain social distancing. Above all stay happy and content it really does make a difference to your health and to all your near and dear ones too. So eat good food by preparing them at home and do Yoga, Pranayam and other exercises and stay healthy.
