Wash and pat dry the Surmai / vishonu fish well. Make a mixture of little bit of tamarind paste / Vingegar, chilli powder, salt with a pinch of haldi powder and hing powder. Apply this paste to the fish and leave to marinate for some time preferably in fridge.
** Make a mixture of fine rava and rice flour in the ratio of 1:1, mix well, roll the fish lightly in this mixture and keep aside ready or use a mixture of fine oats powder for rolling and then tava fry. I used Oats powder with a pinch of rice flour mixed.
Heat a nirlep tawa, when hot add a tblsp of oil into the tawa and spread well, Gently keep the fish rolled in the mixture and fry on medium heat for 3-4 minutes, flip over and fry till crisp. Remove on an absorbent paper and serve hot with any accompaniment as you like.
