“My Delicious Veg. Thali~ 335 : Vali Talasani (Malabar Spinach Bhaji with Garlic), Vali Panna Podi (Malabar Spinach Leaves Fries), Tingalavro Kadgi Koddel (White Beans Raw Jackfruit Curry), Ukde SheetHa (Red Boiled Rice)” … while all the dishes in the thali are equally delicious, it’s the vali/ spinach leaves podi that is the most tempting of all … it’s the season of spinach and we get huge bunches with large leaves that are apt for preparing these spiraled fritters similar to marala panna podi, crisp and yumz … Yummilicious …
** Once again its veggie thali all the way with scrumptious dishes that will make one crave for more especially the fries/ podi. These fries are similar to marala panna podi very famous in and around Mangaluru town where these special leaves called marala paana are available that are similar to colocasia leaves. Unfortunately they are not available in Thane where I live and for sometime all I could do was look at my friends posts on them and keep wishing for some miracle and yes miracles do happen.
** I learnt that we could use malabar spinach leaves for the same from a friend and after that I could savor this dish often whenever I found large leaves of the same. They turn out crisp and delicious having no difference, so if like me you wish to relish them and have no access to those leaves then try with these if available, I am sharing the link of the method of preparation below which includes step by step procedures. Sharing links to recipes of other dishes below too, do enjoy a hearty meal with family and friends.
