My Veg. Solo~Meals.

"My Veg. Solo~Meals. : Vali ani Dali ghalnu Ambat/ Malabar Spinach- Tuvar Dal Spicy Masala Curry with Onion Seasoning served with Ukhde SheetHa/Red Boiled Rice”... A Delightful-Scrumptious combination of spicy curry served with rice in my home from my kitchen … A traditional Dish from Konkani Saraswat Cuisine that is very heartwarming and tummy filling … Yummilicious …

** I had an interesting mail with request to "Solo Meals" sent to my Blog a few days back and it set me thinking ... It is true that with moving times people are hard pressed for time and cannot prepare as much as they would love to, but always want the best for their family ... single dish meals are always heartwarming and satisfying if the dish is complete in its own way ... Our Konkani Cuisine satisfies the requirement as it includes many dishes that are complete in it's own way like Ambat, Koddel, Gashi etc. which includes both pulses and veggies with a good dose of ground coconut masala that makes a complete satisfactory tummy filling meal when served with rice. Then there are many other cuisines from all over India that can be relished labelled under Solo Meals ie a single complete dish or curry served with either rice or roti. Well after the stupendous success of “Thali” and “Combo Meals”, I am now starting a new category under the label of "SoloMeals" and "Lunchtime" for the benefit of all my friends who are interested in the same.

** Though I have posted quite a few of these meals before, I have not put them in the right category and will do so with the older one’s if time permits. However, from now on I will try my best to add on a few dishes of "Solo Meals" which definitely needs some thoughts as it has to furnish complete body requirements. I am not a nutritionist and do not claim anything regarding my food, so be your own judge with recipes posted. I just like to post that which I feel is a complete healthy food, that which I grew up eating from childhood and that which most of the Konkani Sarawats enjoy in their homes worldwide. Once again the dishes in the "Solo Meals" picture above are posted elsewhere along with recipes. I am following my same method as that of Thali postings and sharing only links to recipes so that you can choose to go through the same if you would love to try them. Thanks to all my friends who keep suggesting new ideas regarding sharing and postings. Do try out this common and traditional combo in your home and enjoy with your family and friends.
