"Naivedyam : Godu Povu (Gud Poha/ Sweet Beaten Rice) and Peru (Guava) Halwa" ... preparing peru halwa for the first time ... turned out quite tasty ... simple dishes today as I was out all day and was really tired by the time I returned ... sharing my naivedyam and wishing all my friends "A Very Happy and Prosperous Tulsi Pooja (Vivaha)" ... Stay Blessed, Stay Safe and Spread Happiness ..
** “Tulasi” is the essence of all devotional activities be it during pooja times or otherwise. No offerings are made to God without offering these auspicious leaves. Naivedyams are always offered to God and tulasi leaf offered to God is added on as a blessing received from the diety. Every Hindu home adorns a tulsi plant in the entrance of their home, even those living in flats be it in town or city keep a potted plant in their balcony, such is the faith of all in this ritual. Tulasi Pooja/ Vivaha falls next day to Kartik Ekadashi ie on the Duvadashi day and is always celebrated with pomp in every home. Usually the marriage season begins after tulasi pooja/ vivaha and there are many more rituals added on with importance to this festival.
** This year could not observe the same in proper manner due to lack of availability of many items coz. of the pandemic going on. However, Naivedyam offering is a must as it is our strong belief that a grace of god on the same sends in loads of blessing to each home. As I had been out of city on official work due to sudden emergency I could not prepare much that was planned. Gud Poha is a must during tulasi vivaha/ pooja day after which when I saw the peru I just felt like going ahead and preparing halwa for the first time. Tastes great and I have made a separate post of the same. Sharing links below to both Naivedyam dishes, do try them out. May Tulsi Mata Bless all with health, wealth and prosperity.
