** It's the time of Ganesha Chaturthi Festival, in Mumbai it's 10 day of festive days in many homes and in pendals were Idols are kept. The show goes on in great pomp and style. In my community, at one place ie Seva Mandal, King's Circle it is 5 days and at Sarvajanik Mahotsav in Wadala it is for 10 days. Some Ganesha Idols, brought home are immersed on the 7th day, so prepared some traditional dishes for bappa. I have mentioned before too that in my home there is no tradition of bringing home Idol as it is a ritual that is carried out down generations from one to the next and unfortunately it must have been passed on a few generations below to our then cousins and so on. But that does not dampen my spirit, and I make it a point to prepare daily some dish for my Vignaharata in my home and I really love preparing these Naivedyam. This Naivedyam Thali, was prepared as a tribute to Bappa, I have already posted the Naivedyam post before this post so will not run into the same.
