“My Scrumptious Veg. Thali No~ 445 : Gabbo- Batate Katla Upkari (Plantain Stem- Potato Bhaji/ Stir fry), Pikkile Ambo- Ponso- Nendrabale Kele Godi Upkari/ Hummana (Ripe Mango- Jackfruit- Banana Sweet Curry), Kulith- Kadgi Gashi (Horse Gram- Raw Jackfruit Curry), Kulith Saaru (Horse Gram Saar), Ukde SheetHa (Red Boiled Rice)” … all dishes in my thali today are personal favorites … Amma always served kulitha saaru with loni/ butter, its believed to remove excess heat and I have followed it studiously … all dishes taste equally great; a typical GSB meal that compliments each other well when served together, particularly ambo- ponosu- kele godi upkari that ends the meal in a sweeter note … Yummilicious …

** All dishes in my thali today and simple and I am sure all amchies cook them often in your home too. As I often mention, I never tire of preparing traditional dishes and savoring them in true amchi style and today’s meal endorses it. Always include a simple veggie bhaji/ upkari along with your meals for a fit- healthy lifestyle. A dessert added on, always makes meals that much more delicious and this one is a seasonal one.
