“My Delicious- Healthy Veg. Thali No~ 451 : Harve Kele Podi (Raw Banana Tava Fries), Venti- Khalambe Bajji (Colocasia Stems- Brine Raw Mango Chutney), Poddale Upkari (Snake Gourd Bhaji/ Stirfry), Tomato Saaru (Saar), SheetHa (Rice)” … tummy filling- lip- smacking meal with thikshe- midshe- amshe (spicy- salty- tangy) bajji and equally tasty tava fried podies … Yummilicious …

** Some traditional dishes are simple yet they melt your heart with childhood memories of enjoying meals especially when the family is large and all members dine together. Bajji is a favourite of GSB Konkani Saraswat and is prepared with different veggies in plenty of variations and combinations. I myself have shared quite a lot of them, here too the bajji was prepared earlier, a few years back where in I use semi ripe mango with venti (colocasia stems), but this time I gave a twist and added brine raw mango which was great satisfaction as I had brine/ salt preserved the raw mangoes myself. Turned out excellent in taste and as goes the saying in Konkani chibbechi matti gelli (meaning brought back taste to the buds). Podi is always enjoyed by all and these days I either tava fry them or air fry, here I have tava fried, you may follow either method. Tomato saaru is a joy to relish rice with bringing back ratasaptami memories.
