My Thali 66.


"My Thali 66. ... Cucumber Slices with a dash of pepper powder, Alvati with Sweet Corn Kernels & Hogplum (Alvati~Ambado ani jolu ghalnu), Capsicum Bajia (Donne Mirsange Bajo), Spiced Tuvar Dal (Dalitoy) & Rice (SheetHa) ... Yummilicious … 

** Today’s is a simple thali with Amchi ie Konkani Saraswat dishes. The festive season begins with the starting of Shravana Masa and there are so many festivals lined up for another almost four months. So please keep a watch on this blog for many more awesome combination of dishes. Once again posting these Thali posts on request from friends so as usual will be posting only links and the details of the same are on individual posts shared elsewhere. This is just a combination pattern for you to follow if at all you are confused as to what you want to prepare if you have friends or relatives over for lunch / dinner. 1. “Cucumber Slices with a dash of pepper powder~salt” … Just wash the cucumber, slice off the edges and cut into thin slices. Add on a dash of black pepper powder and salt and serve immediately. I have retained the skin, you can peel off the skin of the cucumbers if desired. 

2. “Alvati with Sweet Corn Kernels & Hogplum (Alvati~Ambado ani jolu ghalnu)” … A delicious Konkani Saraswat dish prepared with tender colocasia leaves specially during festive season … Yummy Yumz …

4. “Dalitoy (Spiced Tuvar Dal)" …. A delicious Konkani Saraswat Dal that tastes well with rice. A must during every meal in our community, we simply love our dal with rice.

5. “Cooking Rice Starch Free / Vanu ghalnu SheetHa” … Rice cooked and the water is drained off to remove excess starch. The rice remains well cooked without sticking to each other … Do try this formula / method of cooking as it is very healthy.
