"Piyava Gojju/ Onion Spicy Dip" ... A spicy dish from Konkani Saraswat Cuisine that is served either as a dip with Oondi (steamed dumplings), Shevai (String Hoppers) or side dish for Pejje Jevan (Rice Porridge) ... Yummilicious …..
** Onion gojju is a simple spicy dip with finely chopped onions from Konkani Saraswat Cuisine that is usually served with Oondi/shevai etc. It is also served as a side dish with pejja ie rice porridge/ kanji/ ganji oota . My father always loved relishing it with pejja at nights especially during monsoon period. I hardly prepare this dish as Oondi is a dish, which is prepared less in my home once again as these dumplings needs stirring over flame and preparing into balls before steaming them. Due to my shoulder and neck, issue stirring is a tough job for me so there are a few dishes that are difficult to be prepared often. It has been a long time since I made prepared Oondi, but after seeing my friends prepare them often and post it in my food group Konkani Delicacies; I was simply craving to have them. In order to satisfy my taste buds I prepared just a little quantity and this time thought of preparing the onion spicy dip as it is very easy to prepare and also there had been a few queries on the same. Well, sharing the simple recipe for all of you to try out with any dish of your choice. You can cut down the spice level and add in only that much red chillies that which is your usual choice.
