** Lassi is a sweet beverage or thick mousse type dish that is prepared from curds that are drained off its excess water. These are famous in the northern parts of India where availability of thick milk is in abundance. You need full fat milk to prepare this one the original way, but can be prepared otherwise too. With changing times, flavored lassi has come into existence. I love preparing these with natural fruit flavours than with addition essence. Here is a simple one with the added goodness of pomegranate / dalimb / dalimbi which is famous worldwide for its health benefits. It is called the sweet nectar from heaven as it has all the properties to promote the well being of humans. I wont run into much details of the fruit as I am sure all of you are aware of it. Yes, a little bit tedious to remove the seeds, but worth it. And do not discard the outer skin, you can dry them out and use in face packs or prepare tambuli a chutney sort of dish too. All you need for this awesome lassi is thick curds and a sweet dark red color seeds of pomegranate. I have also added in small variety ie. ellaichi bananas to give thickness to the lassi as I prefer using skimmed milk than the thick full fat curds. You choose whichever you prefer.
** Remove the outer skin of pomegranates and collect the seeds in a bowl. You should get about 1 cups of seeds. Put them in a blender add 1/4 cup of water and run the blender for about 2-3 minutes. Remove and strain the pulp to get thick pomegranate juice. Take 1 cup of thick Curds (I used the one I prepared at home with minimum fat content), 2 small ellaichi bananas or any variety (you should get about 1 cup of banana slices) and one cup of pomegranate juice, 1 tblsp of sugar (Optional depending upon the fruit sweetness) and blend in a mixer till smooth. Remove in a bowl / vessel and keep it chill for at least 3-4 hrs.

** "Pomegranate + Banana + Curd Lassi / Smoothie" is done and ready to be served. Serve chilled in tall glasses with a spoon adding on some fresh pomegranate seeds to munch on too. You can add in water if you want a thinner texture of Lassi. However Smoothies / lassi are served in thick in Northern parts of India and is served with a spoon to enable you to enjoy them. Do try this out and enjoy on a weekend with your family and friends. I am sure they will love this a little bit different flavored lassi. Remember to serve chilled.
Note: To get the colour you have to remove juice of pomegranate which has deep red seeds.
