"Shravana Masa" 2021 - greetings to all my friends ...
** The auspicious first day of the masa and first Monday collide today ... this holy month is dedicated to God Shiva and Goddess Parvati ... according to Hindu scriptures it is believed that Bholenath looks after the Universe in the absence of Lord Vishnu, for four months during the Chaturmasa period when Shri Narayan goes into Nidrasana i.e. Yoga Nidra for a period of four months, which too has a significance of its own ... Devotees observe fast, abshishek to Shivlinga and offer prayers to Mahadev/ Shiva and his consort Devi Parvati ... on Mondays (Somwar) and Tuesdays (Mangalwar), respectively ... the Vrat observed on Monday is called Shravan or Sawan Somawar Vrat, while the one on Tuesday is known as Mangala Gauri Vrat ... Shiv- Parvati shower blessings in abundance during this holy month to devotees who worship them with shraddha/ devotion ...
