My Simple Amchi Thali 132.

"My Simple Amchi Thali 132 : Carrot Onion Raita (Salad), Chane Gashi Surnu Ghalnu (Whole Black Gram Curry With Yam), Duddhe Upkari (Red Pumpkin Stir Fry/Bhaji), Dalitoy (Spiced Tuvar Dal), Ukde SheetHa (Red Boiled Rice)" ... Chane gashi as you all know is amchies fav. so is Dalitoy ... in all a yummy tummy full lunch which was ended with Dasheri Mango (not in pic) ... Yummilicious ...

** Well, I just can’t stop myself from relishing amchi konkani saraswat dishes often and somehow, I always seem to break in my resolutions within a day or two. Just two days back I was strongly thinking that I should stop preparing heavy food as the Mumbai heat and humidity levels were really getting on nerves. But from last night it is cooler with rains in between and I just could not stop myself from preparing the most famous amchi dish of all times, yes it’s “Chane Gashi Surnu Ghalnu (Whole Black Gram Curry With Yam)”. I had soaked chana to prepare simple upkari/bhaji but seeing the cooler weather changed my mind and prepared gashi. It had been quite sometime since I prepared this dish as usually I love it either with raw jackfruit (kadgi) or keerlu (Bamboo Shoots) added on along with ambados (Hogplums).

** Well, they are all not in season now, though raw jackfruit is available at times, so prepared this along with suran/yam which is also often prepared in Konkani Homes. If you have not yet tried this dish do try it out, it’s a medium spicy dish loved by almost all south Indians. In all a very delicious tummy filling lunch for sure which you can end with a few slices of ripe mangoes which are in season now. I did so with Dasheri variety of mango and it was a lovely lunch with a small nap of 30 minutes followed for me. I have already made individual post of the dishes in the thali and will be sharing the link to each dish below, as is my usual pattern with Thali.
