Prior to Diwali ie. Just before Diwali festivals starts, there is custom that fish eaters usually follow. They eat fish preparations to mark the beginning of the festival, though once the festival really starts Non-Vegetarian Dishes are not consumed.
Many a Fish Items are prepared and relished before the famous Oil Bath is taken. Prior day a good meal of fish is had and after a good sleep the next day early morning an bath after applying oil to the whole body is taken. I will not run into the details of this funny custom. But yes we do follow it, as we get to eat lots of different varieties of fish preparations.
