** It is always a pleasure to Blog my dishes, pen down writings, wishes etc. here in a place I created to call my own. It is indeed a joy to note that today on the auspicious day of “Samsar Padvo/ Ugadi/ Gudi Padvo” with Sri Hari’s and Hari Guru's Blessings; my Blog "Gayathri Pai's Food Bytes" completes "3500" postings. I began this culinary journey to just document my own recipes and be helpful to anybody who desires to cook from our GSB Konkani Saraswat Cusine and the story just continued.
** The journey of a decade long was not at all an easy one and had its own ups and downs along with some U turns and full stops. Many have often questioned me on my decision to pause “Konkani Delicacies” a group started by me to spread knowledge on our GSB community dishes. I still receive message to restart it, as most of the members had a lovely time in the group, they were indeed a blessing to me. To all those who were part of the lovely journey, I would like to say, that I have not deleted it, as I still believe there are plenty of authentic recipes which can be referred to by members whenever desired. I just paused the group as it was not taking the shape I desired of documenting GSB recipes. I thank all those who were part of that journey, as there was always something new to learn.
** Gudi Padva / Samsar Padvo / Ugadi is the beginning of new year for Hindus and I have already written in detail about this festival. Though traditionally almost each home prepares the same menu they have followed over generations, as we progress in life we do need to make changes to suit our ongoing lifestyle. I too have cut down on many dishes as it is not feasible to consume it despite my desire to prepare them all and serve as Naivedyam/ Prasadam to our home deity, but somewhere I know its understood.
** I have already written all that I have to say in the individual posts of the recipes and anything more mentioned would only be repetitive which I am sure would irritate all. So cutting short, let me straight away share links to the recipes in the thali above as is my regular practice with thali posts. Do try out various combos of dishes, making your own mix and match combinations if need be, depending upon your family preferences and enjoy them with your family and friends. Wishing all “A Happy and Prosperous Samsar Padva/ Ugadi/ Gudi Padva 2025” … Stay Blessed- Spread Happiness.
