My Non-Veg Thali~ 342.

“My Non-Veg Thali~ 342 : Mooga Patrado (Green Gram Colocasia Leaves Rolls), Rawas Gashi/ Ambat (Indian Salmon Fish Curry), Bhenda Upkari (Lady’s Finger Bhaji/ Stir fry), Ukde SheetHa (Red Boiled/ Kerala Matta Rice)” … I am sure for all out there best days are those when you enjoy your favorite food on your plate in leisure and Sundays are just meant to be that day … here is a scrumptious meal for all those who love fish and for those who love patrado … Yummilicious …

** It’s Sunday, need I say more, not that it matters much in my home as we are 24x7, nevertheless it’s a pleasure to have one’s favorite meal and then take a nap which otherwise gets deprived at times. Wish life was always this great, Isn’t it, but then its not to be so, there are always ups and downs and each part of life is a phase be it happiness or saddness we cross it when times come and the change is always inevitable. Well, do enjoy good food when you can as all of us are so busy that we hardly notice the wonderful times passed by.

** I have often mentioned that in Saraswat style of fish cooking we hardly add on any veggies to fish curry except bimbul/ambado/ karmbal to bring in tartness, though the same can be achieved by adding tamarind to ground masala when these are not available as is the case in Mumbai. I have often come across many who add bhendi/ potato etc. to fish curry and often thought why not? But somehow the fish flavor over powering veggies makes me reluctant to do so and I always end up preparing veggie dishes separately as a side dish.

** My today’s Thali is exactly day, it can be relished by veggies and non vegetarians by including/ excluding dishes that they prefer to have, so even for veggies except for dal, there are two yummy dishes included, all you need is to add on some of your own favorite dal and its perfect as when there is patrado there is absolutely no need for any other side dish except maybe a bhaji. Sharing links to the recipes to items in the thali above as is my usual practice, just click on them and you will get the recipes and check out more if necessary.
