Combo Breakfast : Ponsa Godi Idly, Govan Shevai Panna, Kele Kachri, Adraki Chai.

“Combo Breakfast : Ponsa Godi Idly topped with Toop (Ripe Jackfruit Sweet Idly topped with Ghee), Govan Shevai Panna (Seasoned Sun- Dried Wheat Idiyappam), Kele Kachri (Banana Wafers), Adraki Chai (Ginger Tea)” … these are traditional combo packs handed down generations from GSB Konkani Saraswat Cuisine… it's a set of dishes usually served together that include a little bit each of sweet dish- spiced dish- crunchy snack; served with a strong dose of ginger tea/ filter coffee that makes it a balanced- healthier- scrumptious breakfast … Yummilicious …

** I have mentioned that life always rolls in circles be it cuisine, costumes, jewelry, rituals etc. that which was famous a few decades back that had died down has a way of bouncing back and it is funny to think that the combo pack meals so famously seen written on large block letters on food centers are what our ancestors made often in their aromatic kitchens. I have already written my thoughts on the same to which I will share a link at the bottom of this recipe, please browse through if interested in reads.

** Coming to combo packs each home serves dishes in their own favorite combinations be it for meals or breakfast. There are plenty of traditionally famous dishes or let’s say combo of dishes that have been served in our own GSB Konkani Saraswat Community for decades now which I am now trying to blog as and when I prepare. Thanks to my Amma, for sharing plenty of combos in breakfast when I requested so as to revive the lost traditional habits. I have already shared quite a few and will do so quite often.

** I hope each one of you who read these post do not consider it as a waste of time and undo our ancestors efforts. Unfortunately, we neither have understood it, nor followed it, maybe out of ignorance or maybe coz. of lack of time, but we must get back to our roots and follow their healthy routines for our own benefit. Just look around at present eating habits that have played havoc on our health. There is a vast knowledge and experience in whatever was handed down to us that are loaded with health benefits.

** I guess its high time we try to include healthy home cooked meals into our routine and if well planned ahead then its easier than one thinks and when regularly followed it will be a breeze work, just planning that’s what is needed, think about it. Sharing recipe links to dishes in picture as is my usual practice with these posts as they are blogged separately and I am sure you will agree that there is no point in repeating them all over again. Please browse through them, try them and relish with your family and friends.

** Given below are the links to the recipes of individual dishes in the picture above, please go through the link for that particular dish ..... do try them out in your home and enjoy with family and friends, they are all tried and tested in my own kitchen many times and are very tasty …
