Khatta Meetha Mango Ice Candies / Sweet And Tangy Popsicles ......
Come summer and the candy man used to come around the corner of the house pushing a box cart and ringing the bell …. Tring tring and yelling ….. iiiccceee caaandeeee ….. We children used to take a large vessel and run out to buy these ice candies or popsicles, put them in the vessel and run back home to enjoy these candies before they began to melt. Sometimes we used to put rasana, lemonade or any other sweet drink in small glasses and make our own ice candies as we did not have moulds for them then. Childhood memories of these popsicles always make me nostalgic and yearn to eat them during summer months even now. My mom loves these to date, but then now we prepare them at home. I was yearning for these for some time … particularly the one’s in small glasses ...… I am sure many of you have done this too … Here is Khatta Meetha Mango Popsicles …… Enjoy these before they melt .....
Ingredients : All you need is a fully Ripe Mango, Sugar and Lemon.
I simply prepared fresh mango juice adding enough water. Added in sugar and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Mixed well and put them in small glasses and put them in the freezer. Once the juice began to set into Ice, I put in the candy sticks and allowed it to set overnight till it was fully set into ice candies. That’s all.
