Tomato Cucumber Cabbage Salad.


“Tomato Cucumber Cabbage Salad” … A simple~delicious~healthy salad with a dash of curds … try this simple salad and enjoy it just as it is for dinner or as a side dish along with other dishes, either way it tastes awesome … A filling one for sure … Yummy … 

** Salads should be made a part of our daily diet, but somehow Indian food has always not given much importance to it on daily basis. Though salad is enjoyed by many, it never dominates our food pattern. Things and changing though and as people adapt to new lifestyle salad has made an entry with bang with the health conscious teenagers and parents are left with no choice but to learn preparing them in various combination keeping in mind nutrition. 

** Here is one such salad that is low on calories but a tummy filling one and nutritious too with addition of little bit of skimmed milk curds. A simple one that can be relished as it is for in between hunger or as a dinner the way I prefer. Yes, you heard it right, as age advances one should go very light on dinner so at least two to three days a week my dinner is most of the times salad or soups and this is is my favorite as its very low in calories. I have not tempered it, but you may do so if desired. 


** Here is my simple recipe for “Tomato Cucumber Cabbage Salad” ... My Style ...

** Wash and wipe 2 large sized tomatoes and cut them into small cubes and put them in a bowl. 

** Peel of the skin of one medium sized cucumber and chop them into small pieces too and add them to the bowl with tomatoes. 

** Now clean and chop about 2 cups of cabbage also into similar sized pieces and add into the bowl. 

** Add 4-5 green chillies chopped fine, 3 tablespoon of beaten curds and salt to taste. Add in a pinch of hing powder and mix all ingredients well. 

** Add in a handful of freshly chopped coriander leaves and mix well, I did not add as it was not fresh. 

** “Tomato Cucumber Cabbage Salad” is done and ready to be served. Serve this salad immediately as it tastes crunchy and awesome when served immediately. The water content in the cucumber will or else leave and the salad turns slightly waterish if you keep it aside. 

** Enjoy this scrumptious salad as your dinner as it is very much less in calories and tummy filling or during lunch time with other dishes. Have a healthy life and stay blessed with your family.
