Chilled Betel Leaf + Mint + Lime Juice.



Here is Chilled Betel Leaf + Mint + Lime Juice ....... Specially for those who like the taste of Paan / Betel Leaf …… served with Drumstick Bajia ...........



Everybody remembers the famous Amitabji Song ........ " Kaike Paan Banarasvala" or for that matter the romantic song by Waheedaji " Paan khaye saiyan hamaro"....... The World's Most Romantic Leaf Is Heart-Shaped and In India it is our very own Betel Leaf or Beeda. When offered to Gods it is devotion (known as Veedo), romance when offered to the love of your life and graceful hospitality when offered to guests.


For the preparation of the Juice …. Wash and chop finely 3-4 betel leaves along with 15-20 fresh pudina / mint leaves.


Bring to boil 3 cups of water, when the water boils remove from fire add in the chopped leaves and 2 cups of sugar and mix well. Leave aside and let this cool completely.


Once cooled strain the leaves and grind with little of the sugar water to a smooth paste. Add this to the remaining sugar-water and mix well. Strain through a thick sieve. Add 2-3 freshly squeezed lemon juice and ½ tsp of cardamom powder. Add 2 more cups of water and mix well. Refrigerate the prepared Betel leaf-Mint-Lime Juice for 2-3 hours or till well chilled.


Juice is ready to be served. Check for sweetness, if too sweet add in some chilled water and mix well. Serve the Juice chilled topped with some ice and fried snacks to go along with. 


Note : This Juice is highly recommended for good health. But somehow some people do not like the taste of Betel leaf much. In case you are one of them then you can cut down the no. of leaves that are added while preparing the juice to suit your taste. There are many more methods in which we can prepare this Juice, so don’t hesitate in trying out these juices that best suits to your liking. I will keep adding more as and when I prepare them.
