Black tea with lemon is a concoction prepared by adding tea leaves to boiling water and allowing it to rest for a few minutes and then straining it. To which fresh lime juice is squeezed in and sipped hot. This tea has lots of health benefits. Lemons can make tea healthier and tastier to drink. Black tea is a calorie-free beverage that contains caffeine and has immense health benefits. I will not go into its details, as I cannot endorse it. Lemons are a rich source of vitamin C, which acts as an antioxidant that helps fight free lots of ailments. Doctors today recommend consumption of at least 1 lemon per day per person. Lemons are also a good source of minerals and vitamins, potassium, magnesium and thiamine. Adding it to black tea does not inhibit its nutritional effects, which makes the combination ideal for consumption.
In India, milk and sugar is normally added to black tea. Some people also add various herbs including ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, lemon grass, mulethi etc. I will be adding many more preparations of tea in different flavours as many of my friends have asked me include different flavours of tea in my Blog. So girls …. My first kadak Nimboo Chai is here to beat away the Monsoon blues. Just boil one cup of water, add 1 tsp of any tea leaves to it, and let boil for few minutes say 2 - 3 minutes. Remove from heat cover and keep aside for 3 – 5 minutes. Strain and add in freshly squeezed half a lemon juice and sip it heartily. Enjoy the rains; relax with a cup of hot kadak nimboo chai and a good book.
