Chilled Saffron Cardamom Lime Juice.


Thanda thanda Kesari Ellachi Nimboo Paani / Chilled Saffron Cardamom flavoured Lime Juice ....... Simply the most wonderful drink to have in this hot season .......


There are various combinations in which Nimboo Paani / Lime Juice / Limbiya Sherbat can be prepared. Lime juice needs no introduction. Everybody consumes this wonder fruit in some way or the other almost on daily basis. It has various benefits and is a must for leading of healthy life. Nimboo paani / Lime juice / Limbiya sherbat is one such juice that most Indians have on a regular basis. Come summer and every household stocks up lemons, so that the sherbat can be prepared and had to beat the heat. It’s a great thirst quencher and good to ward off the heat in the body. 


Combined with various other ingredients, the taste can be more enhanced of nimboo paani. Like addition of saffron, ginger, kokum, guava etc. There are so many combinations or variations in which this fruit juice can be consumed that you will be really surprised at the mix and matches. I have already posted a few and will keep doing so as and when I prepare this juice that is high in Vitamin C. So go ahead and enjoy this juice cold or chilled. The taste is heavenly as it adds that lovely extra punch to the drinks. 


Add 6 tsp of sugar and ½ tsp of saffron threads in the samllest jar grinder of the mixer along with ½ tsp cardamom seeds and grind to a smooth powder. Grinding of saffron allong with sugar gives the lemon juice that lovely pale yellow colour. You can add more or less of sugar depending upon individual taste.


Remove and add the powder in a bowl along with 3 glasses of water. Add a pinch of rock salt, freshly squeezed juice of 2 medium sized lemons and mix well. Keep the prepared lime juice the fridge to cool. Serve chilled garnished with a few strands of saffron and some fine cardamom powder sprinkled on top.
