Bengal Gram-Sweet Potato Bhaji, Boondi Raita, Barnyard Millet Amaranth Leaves Bhaat

"Sweet~Spicy~ Chano- Kananga Upkari/ Bengal Gram-Sweet Potato Bhaji, Boondi Raita (Salad), Varai- Tambdi Bhajji (Indian Barnyard Millet- Red Amaranth Leaves) Masala Bhaat" ... No Onion- No Garlic- No Rice on 2nd Day of Navratri ... Stay Blessed~ Spread Happiness .....

** As the Navratri festival begins so does the fasting dishes in my home. To do away with the same old dishes that are prepared and relished, this time I thought of changing over a few days to millets. Masala Bhaat is a very famous spiced dish that can be prepared without the addition of onion-garlic too, though they taste tastier with them. Millets can be cooked in similar manner replacing rice or rava which is usually what I use in preparing the spiced dish. So today prepared with Varait to which I added on tambdi bhajji ie red amaranth leaves too. Thought if other leafy veggies like palak, methi etc. can be added in preparation of pulav why not laal mathi ie amaranth leaves. Well, for a change, glad I tried it, was good, so sharing the links to the recipes in the picture of thali above. Have a lovely festive time and Enjoy with your family and friends and do try out various dishes posted in the blog and remember to give me a feedback.

For this recipe I have used only curds and boondi with a little bit spices, that’s it. Usually I prepare it with onions, but since it was on fasting day, and it is no onion-no garlic day, I just did not add it. Your choice, you can add on if you wish as it tastes delicious or you can choose any other raita or salad dishes too using the search option or label section.
