My Veg. Satvik Thali~ 261.


“My Veg. Satvik Thali~ 261 : Kirlailele Mooga Upkari (Sprouted Green Gram Bhaji), Mixed Vegetable Rava Upma, Vegetable Kochla Nonche (Pickle), Pineapple (Avnasa/ Ananas) Raita (Curd Salad)” … here is a simple- healthy, No Onion- Garlic- Rice, combo meal … while the sprouts provide necessary proteins, the veggies in upma are fibrous and the curd is good for the tummy/ gut … and the pickle is just to tickle the taste buds … Yummilicious …

** Once again it’s another lovely combo meal of No- Onion- Garlic- Rice that can be relished on upvas/ fasting day. I have written a lot about how we GSB Konkani Saraswat’s go about fasting with certain dishes. There are certain dishes that are always given sort or green signal during these days. I have always been fasting on Ekadashi and certain main festival days for decades now, but with dishes allowed to be consumed not a complete no food fasting as it does not suit me having to take medicines for my health issues. I strongly believe and try to follow, that be it for spiritual reason or for health sake as one’s age advances the consumption of food should be decreased by quantity and not quality. 

** So, for the last 2 yrs in my home I have kept aside certain days though not a hard fast rule as it gets overruled at times, but try my best to refrain from having a full meal. But I also keep in mind the nutrition and other aspects while doing so. Idly, Bhakri, Upma, Roti these are all included on those days thereby avoiding rice and other dishes. Today it is another flavored masala upma just to give in a little twist to regular ones. But I am sharing all common links below to the dishes posted in the picture above as is my practice with Thali/ Combo dishes or those which have already been posted.
