** Placing a simple but delicious festive Naivedyam Lunch before all of you. Today is Nava Jeveche (in Konkani) ie eating of new harvest food. Rice that was cultivated comes to use in this month and new grains are available at this time, so it is considered auspicious to prepare them during these nine days. It is a custom / tradition followed in almost every home in GSB community. The days fall differently to each one during these nine days depending upon their Kula Devu ie family diety. Mine is Mahalasa Narayani and I follow it on 6 th day that is sashti of the Navratri. A sweet dish along with rice and other dishes as offering to God and there by distributed as prasadam among family members. As all the nine days are festive days there is always dishes and sweet dishes prepared, so I keep it simple without preparing too many dishes on a single dish.
