Chilled Mango Almond Milk Shake.

"Chilled Mango Almond Milk Shake" ... When Alphonso mangoes the King of Fruits flood the market its always a delight to sip on chilled mango milk shakes ... Today for a change prepared the same with Almond milk which I prepared at home ... Highly nutritious but be careful, it's full of calories too ... Mangolicious ….

** Preparation of Mango Almond Milk Shake is very easy to prepare if you have almond milk and ripe mangoes ready at home. But if you don't have the almond milk, no worries, it is very easy to prepare. I have shared the preparation method of Almond Milk also for those who are new to the same. This one is a very easy and delicious cool drink that tastes great during summer time as mangoes are available in plenty, no to mention the King of Mangoes Aaapus/ Alphonso that have really crowded the market this season. A lovely seasonal drink that gives a great satisfaction on sipping chilled when you come home tired and sweating from the increasing summer heat. However, this is a seasonal delicacy and can be prepared only when ripe mangoes are in season. I am aware that it can also be prepared using canned mangoes, but, I never recommend using of canned fruits in preparation of the fresh fruit juices or milk shakes, in fact I am completely against using much of canned products unless it is inevitable.

** The rest of the ingredients are not much and are all available in ou kitchen and there is no worries there at all. All you need is that beautiful smile on your lips and a loving heart serve it with and you will have guests asking for more. Again, you need to prepare this well in advance to serve it chilled, and also to prepare the almond milk, so if that is done then half the work is done. The only hitch here however is, this drink though yummy in taste is loaded with calories, which is a complete No-No with today's teenagers and also weight watchers. So be careful on excess consumption if on weight watch, also please do not serve this to any diabetic or friends with health issues who are supposed to avoid dishes with sugar or loaded calories. It is good for growing up children when they come back after playing a lot. You can also thin out the shake or serve it thick as I did the choice is yours. Again, you can add a dollop of mango ice cream on top while serving for children or elders too if you fancy the same, I do not want to pile on the calories as I need to keep an watch out as I am not on the slimmer side.

** Here is the simple method of preparing chilled "Chilled Mango Almond Milk Shake" ....

** To Prepare Almond Milk : Soak about 25 almonds in bowl with warm water overnight or in hot water for an hour. You can also put it microwave with water and run for 2 minutes. The outer skin looses in all the above three method, peel it off and discard the water. Put the peeled almonds in mixer grinder with a sharp blade and grind to a fine paste with half a cup water. The paste should be ground very fine, stain through a fine sieve and you have almond milk ready.

** Note : You can sweeten this almond milk with sugar, mix well and serve it as it is too or by adding it on to other shakes or dishes in place of milk or cashew milk too. Almonds are good for health and is believed to have anti ageing properties. Almond consumption in limits is always recommended for a good and healthy life.

** To Prepare Mango Almond Milk Shake : Peel of the skin of 2 large sized ripe Aapus/ Alphonso Mangoes and remove the soft ripe fleshy portion cleanly as much as possible and discard the inner seed. Add the flesh portion into a mixer grinder along with 1/2 cup sugar to taste (+/- depending upon individual taste) and 1 cup of prepared almond milk. Using the pulse mode beat till all the ingredients is mixed in well and frothy. Add in 2-3 Ice Cubes and further pulse for a second or two.

** Pour the prepared “Chilled Mango Almond Milk Shake” into tall glasses and serve them immediately. The above proportions will give you about 2 large glasses of milk shake or 3 glasses of medium sized glasses. Always serve milk shakes chilled and enjoy this with your family and friends. You can prepare the same using ordinary milk or cashew milk too. You can also top the milk shake with a scoop of Mango Ice Cream if you have it ready at home, takes awesome when done so.

** Note : I do not recommend replacing sugar with artificial sweeteners as I have never used them and hesitant about the same as one never knows the chemicals content in them. You may add only if you are prescribed by a qualified Doctor. And I would not suggest this drink to those who have health issues like diabetes or any other as this shake is loaded with calories and is on sweeter side.

** Note : I also do not recommend addition of canned fruits as they are not at all healthy. I do not also acknowledge the so called fresh fruit juices we now get in tetra packs claiming to be fresh without preservatives. I have had enough of my share of such drinks that only leads to health problems in the long run. Always use seasonal fresh fruits for preparation of dishes and avoid anything that is packed and sold.
