Nachani (Ragi) Onion Tempered Appos (Paniyarams).

"Nachani (Ragi) Onion Tempered Appos (Paniyarams)" served with molaga podi topped with coconut oil ... I prepared these with the leftover batter of yesterdays Appos ... just added on nachani powder and little bit of rava, that's it and yummy healthy appos are ready ... I love these two in one dishes that lessens my burden ... Yummilicious ...

** As you all know Appos (Konkani name for paniyarams) are small dumplings prepared in a tawa which has several dents. The dents are oiled and batter is poured into each of them, covered and cooked till done. These have a very spongy texture and taste awesome with any chutney of your choice. Appo's taste very good with spicy curries too. I have already posted the recipe for Appo with various variations before. This particular appo is prepared out of the remaining batter of the appo I posted yesterday with the addition of nachani powder and a little bit of fine rava. A bit delayed in posting due to some unavoidable incidences that suddenly took place. A simple one that tastes awesome when served with any chutney podi or freshly prepared chutney. I am sharing the link below to the recipe of the appo with which I prepared this one, you can check out on the same and prepare these two dishes in two days which will save a lot of your time and also your family will love the variation.

** Here is the preparation method of "Nachani (Ragi) Onion Tempered Appos" … My Style …

** I have used three cups of ready “onion tempered appo batter here”. You can prepare the same fresh by following the recipe in the link given below or can prepare those appos and follow these the next day the way I did.

** Add in 3 tblsp of nachani / ragi / finger millet powder to the batter along with 2 tblsp of fine chiroti rava and mix well. Add in little bit of water to bring to thick batter consistency. Check salt to taste and add in a little bit. You can also add in a few more green chillies cut into bits if needed as per your taste.

** Now follow the method of removing appos in similar way as mentioned in the link below to the original recipe. Delicious "Nachani (Ragi) Onion Tempered Appos” are ready. Empty this batter and do not keep this further in the fridge as it is already 48 hours old and may turn sour. Enjoy these appos with chutney of your choice. I made it spicier by adding on a few more green chillies, so just served it with Molaga Podi / Gun Powder / Idly podi topped with coconut oil.

** For the "Onion Tempered Appos / Paniyarams" served with Coriander~ Pudina Chutney ... A delicious bf / snack dish that is prepared with Urad Dal~Rice with the addition of onions seasoned and added on ... Appos never tasted better than these ....
