Radish Raita With Peanuts.


Radish Raita Seasoned With Spices And Peanuts .....


Radish is very good for health. It has immense health benefits and is very good for diet conscious people. This tuber vegetable is diabetic friendly and can be had in plenty by the patients. It is said to clear kidney ie. flush out toxins. Keep it simple, I have prepared this Raita using only grated radish and seasoned it to add in flavour.


Wash and wipe the Radish clean. Peel off the skin and grate in a large hole grater and keep this ready aside. You should have about 3 cups of grated radish in all. Put the grated radish in a bowl and ½ - ¾ cup of skimmed milk curds. Add salt to taste and mix well. 


For Tempering : Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a small pan, add 1 tsp of mustard seeds. When they begin to splutter add in 2-3 green chillis chopped to pieces, 1 tsp of hing powder and 6-8 curry leaves. Lastly add ¼ cup of roasted peanuts (roast peanuts prior to seasoning and keep them ready) and fry well for a few minutes. Pour this over the radish raita and mix well.


Radish Raita with Peanuts is ready to be served. This goes great with Pulav as a side dish. You can serve it along with any other dishes of your choice too. Do included this in your diet at least once in a week to be healthier and fitter. You can add in finely sliced onions to the Raita too. In which case just increase 1 no. of chilly.
