Tomato Beetroot Juice .

"Tomato Beetroot Juice" ... a veggie combination juice for over all health ... sip it on cold and enjoy it this summer to beat the heat ... Yummilicious ....

** About Tomatoes and Beetroot : The popularity of beetroot, tomatoes and some other vegetables have grown leaps and bounds in recent years. Awareness for healthy food has brought in many developments in preparation of many a vegetables juices. Drinking fruit/ vegetable juice in combination together gives in additional health benefits. The healthy combination of tomatoes and beetroot in the form of juice is very good for constipation as both of them contain properties that eliminate the root causes of constipation.

** Beetroot has natural source of sugar in it which gives added bonus while making a juice as you will not have to add any additional sugar which is unhealthy. The deep red color of beets also gives the juice a beautiful color. Beetroots can be cooked, boiled, baked or made into juice. In our Country India, it is mostly grated / sliced and added in salads. Beetroots are high in folic acid and manganese also contain minerals like calcium, iron, potassium, copper, sulphur, silica and chlorine.

** Various antioxidants like flavonoids and carotenoids are also found in this vegetable. All these make consumption of beets a healthy way of promoting good health and the prevention of constipation. Just one tomato a day gives a lot of beneficial effect to our health. It is very good for heart, contains tremendous amount of natural vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamins B1, B3, B5, B6, B7, excellent vitamin C, folate, iron, potassium, magnesium, chromium, choline, zinc, and phosphorus.

** It also helps the most in improving the functioning of our digestive system and the liver, and the prevention of constipation, so include them as and when possible into your diet and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. Veggie juices are not as tasty as fruit juices so initially the taste may not be a welcome one to our taste buds, it takes a few rounds of juices to be relished to be comfortable with them, so just continue to enjoy them and please prevent addition of sugar to make it tastier as the whole purpose of the drink is then lost.

** Here is my recipe for "Tomato Beetroot Juice" ... my style ....

** Peel of the skin of one medium sized beetroot, wash and chop it to small pieces. Wash, wipe dry and chop to small pieces 6 medium sized ripe tomatoes.

** Add both the beetroot and tomatoes cut pieces into a juicer along with one cup of water and blend to a very smooth consistency.

** Add ½ tsp kala namak/ rock salt and 1 tsp of coarsely ground pepper powder/ kali miri and further blend all together well.

** Add in a cup of chilled water or crushed ice cubes and further blend till well mixed. Remove and strain through fine sieve into a vessel/ jar.

** The mixture should be ground to a very fine paste to avoid getting excess residue while straining the juice, so keep a watch for it.

** Check out the thickness and add more chilled water only if necessary. Do not store in fridge for more than an hour to avoid loss in nutrients.

** "Tomato Beetroot Juice" is done and ready to be served. Always serve fruit/ veggie juices immediately on preparation for health benefits as if stored they loose out on nutrients and are not very beneficial.

** It is very easy to prepare juices, takes hardly 20 minutes in all, so avoid buying packaged ones which are loaded with preservatives and can cause more harm to your overall health than benefit, do be careful with your choices.
