Tingalavre Kolumbo with Vali and Mullangi Denta Kolmbo / White Beans- Malabar Spinach Stems and Radish Sambar ... a delicious dish from Konkani Saraswat Cuisine served with rice ... Yummilicious .... 


** Soak 1 cup of white beans overnight. Next morning pressure cook till done. Add 1 medium sized Radish cut into cubes and about 1 cup of Malabar spinach stems cut into 3 inch length pieces to the beans and cook till done. 


** Heat oil in kadai add 1 tsp rai when they splutter add 8-10 curry leaves and 1 tsp hing powder. Add 2tblsp of Sambar Powder and fry well. Add a bit of water if necessary. Add this to the cooked beans, radish, spinach mixture. Add in 1 tblsp of tamarind paste and salt to taste. Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes. 

** Tingalavre Kolumbo with Vali and Mullangi Denta Kolmbo / White Beans- Malabar Spinach Stems and Radish Sambar is done and ready to be served. Serve hot with boiled rice or plain rice of your choice. You can also serve it with roti/ chapathi in which keep the texture of sambar slightly thicker in consistency.
