Masala Egg Burger.

Masala Egg Burger .....

Burgers are a favourite among kids. Every one is aware of the famous Mac Donald's Burger. There is always a tikki / cutlet inside the burger which is either tava fried or deep fried. This plays the most important role in a burger with second being cheese and then ketchup, other salad dressings are also added on.

This is a simple burger prepared using a thick masala egg dosa which you can call as tikki too. We simply love it with the thick egg omelette specially prepared with lots of masalas.

Ingredients :
Eggs : 2
Onions : 2 med. Sized chopped finely.
Garlic : 4-5 chopped fine.
Ginger : ½ inch grated.
Haldi pd. : ½ tsp.
Jeera pd. : 1 tsp
Coriander pd. : 2 tsp.
Garam Masal pd. ½ tsp.
Fennel pd. : ½ tsp
Red Chilly pd. : 1 tsp.
Crushed pepper pd. : ½ tsp.
Tomatoes : 2 small or 1 big.
Coriander leaves : 1 tsp finely chopped.
Curry leaves : few finely chopped.

Ghee : 1 tsp.
Oil : 2 tblsp.

Beat 2 eggs and keep it ready.

Heat 2 tblsp oil + 1 tsp ghee in a kadai, add in a few curry leaves chopped finely, then add 2 medium sized onions chopped finely lower the heat and fry the onions, when they turn translucent, add 4-5 finely chopped garlic and fry till they turn slightly brownish in colour, add ½ inch grated ginger, 1 tsp haldi powder, 1 tsp jeera powder, 2 tsp dhania powder, ½ tsp garam masala powder, ½ tsp fennel powder, 1 tsp red chilly powder, ½ tsp crushed pepper powder and fry well, sprinkle some water if necessary add in 2 small or 1 big tomato cut into small pieces and fry well till cooked. Add salt and some coriander leaves. Remove from heat and let cool completely. (The prepared masala should be cooled before adding to the beaten eggs).

When completely cool add this mixture to the beaten eggs and mix well. Heat a tawa and add spread some ghee on it.

Add big spoonful of the mixture to make 4-6 small burger size shaped omelette frying it nicely on both sides. Remove and keep aside.

For Assembling the Burger: Fry the inner side of the burgers on hot tawa after brushing it a bit with melted butter. Apply tomato ketchup. Put in a few leaves of steamed cabbages. Add a bit of green chutney (Optional). Keep one egg omelette in each of the Burger, top it with sliced cheese immediately. Top it with the other side of the Burger. Close tightly. You can secure it with a toothprick if you want. Serve hot. If you prepare the Burgers in advance Microwave them for 10-15 seconds and then serve.
