Masala Bhel / Chanbure Upkari.


Everybody's Favorite.. Chanbure Upkari / Masala Bhel..



In a big mixing bowl, add all of the following ingredients and mix lightly: 3-4 cups of puffed rice (kurmura / Chanburo), 2 onions chopped finely, 1 tomato finely chopped remove the pulp from inside, 1 small grated carrot, 1 small grated beetroot, 1 cucumber chopped finely, 1 grated raw Mango (Optional as it is seasonal), 2 tblsp of Sambar Powder, salt as required, 1 tblsp of tamarind chutney / pulp, 1 tblsp of tomato ketchup. ½ cup finely chopped coriander leaves.

Note: This dish is to be served immediately as it tends to fall soft very soon and does not taste good later. If serving after sometime, keep the puffed rice in a sealed container and keep the other ingredients mixture aside and mix just before serving. 


You can serve this topped with farsan / sev etc. You can also add boiled and drained corn.

If the kurmura / bhel / chanburo is soft and not crispy before preparing fry it on a tawa on heat without adding anything for some time, it becomes crisp.
